Scores of MSPs, IT consulting firms and cloud software companies are attending AWS re:Invent 2021 this week in Las Vegas. But what cloud partner news will Amazon Web Services unveil at the conference? All the answers are below. Independent Cybersecurity Audits: A-LIGN has surfaced at the conference to promote independent cybersecurity audits and assessments, which allow organizations to "assure their customers that sensitive data and critical operations are handled securely. A-LIGN develops the A-SCEND compliance management platform. The company's 2022 product roadmap is on display at the event. 33. AWS Security: CrowdStrike announced new AWS product integrations and certifications that deliver breach protection and streaming observability. The integrations address involve such areas as EKS Anywhere support; AWS Outposts launch partner participation; AWS Quick Starts for Humio; and Humio integration with AWS FireLens; and AWS Well Architected ISV Certification. 32. Cloud Data Protection - Five Updates:
  • Zerto, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, has released Zerto In-Cloud for AWS, a new cloud-native platform that delivers disaster recovery (DR) for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). The Zerto service scales to protect 1,000+ instances across regions, availability zones, and accounts, the company said.
  •  Kasten by Veeam has released Kasten K10 Kubernetes data management platform in AWS Marketplace for Containers Anywhere.
  • Rubrik announced extended protection against ransomware with support for Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) Object Lock, the company said.
  • HYCU is previewing HYCU Protégé for AWS, which allows customers to "further protect, manage, and recover data for workloads on AWS."
  • Dell has launched the Dell EMC PowerProtect Cyber Recovery for AWS. Through the AWS Marketplace, customers can purchase and deploy an air- gapped cyber vault to help securely protect and isolate data away from a ransomware attack, Dell indicated.
31. Cloud Financial Services: Nasdaq and AWS announced a "multi-year partnership to build the next generation of cloud-enabled infrastructure for the world’s capital markets." 30. Mainframe Application Migrations: The new AWS Mainframe Modernization service "makes it faster and easier for customers to migrate mainframe and legacy workloads to the cloud," the company said. 29. Data Center Chips - AWS vs. Intel and Nvidia: Details are here from Reuters. 28. AWS Private 5G: The new managed service "helps enterprises set up and scale private 5G mobile networks in their facilities in days instead of months," the company said. 27. AWS for Automotive: A new extension of the service, called AWS IoT FleetWise, makes it "easier and more cost-effective for automakers to collect vehicle data and transfer it to the cloud in near-real time so customers can build applications that use analytics and machine learning to improve vehicle quality, safety, and autonomy," the company asserted. 26. Digital Twins: The new AWS IoT TwinMaker service makes it "faster and easier for developers to create digital twins of real-world systems like buildings, factories, industrial equipment, and production lines," the company asserted. 25. Intel: The chip giant's sessions are outlined here. 24. Accenture: The global IT consulting firm expanded its longstanding relationship with MSPs. 23. Microsoft on AWS: SolarWinds has achieved the AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency status and was accepted into the AWS ISV Independent Software Vendors (ISV) Accelerate Program. 22. McAfee and FireEye: McAfee Enterprise and FireEye today introduced new cloud security capabilities on AWS  as well as integration with Amazon Inspector. Among the developments to note: FireEye Helix behavior analysis and machine-learning Extended Detection & Response (XDR) capabilities combined with Amazon Inspector, a vulnerability management service, offers AWS customers "greater visibility and protection of applications and data in the cloud." Also, McAfee Enterprise and FireEye are also now included in the AWS ISV Workload Migration Program (WMP), which "helps customers with funding, technology enablement and go-to-market support as they migrate independent software vendor (ISV) workloads on AWS and accelerate their digital transformation," the announcement said. 21. AWS Migration and Modernization Competency: The new AWS Migration and Modernization Competency is designed for partners tohelp customers optimize cost and reduce TCO, modernize legacy applications and data, and reduce operational burden, Amazon indicated. Early partners include:
  • Cyber asset management company CloudSphere.
  • Model9, a provider of cloud data management for mainframe.
  • Datadog, a provider of monitoring and security tools for cloud applications.

AWS Marketplace for Containers Anywhere: The new service allows customers to find, subscribe to, and deploy third party Kubernetes applications from AWS Marketplace on any Kubernetes cluster in any environment, the company said. 19. AWS Data Exchange for APIs: The service allows users to find, subscribe to, and use third-party APIs with a consistent access using AWS SDKs, as well as consistent AWS-native authentication and governance, the company indicated. 18. AWS Graviton Ready Program: The partner program is part of the AWS Service Ready Program. Early partners include Qualys and Aqua Security's Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP). 17. AWS Partner Paths: This is a "new approach to accelerate AWS Partners’ engagement with AWS by providing relevant guidance, resources, programs, and benefits on a partner’s diverse business models," the company said. 16. AI for Data Analytics (AIDA): This is a set of AWS partners solutions that "embed predictive analytics into mainstream analytics workspaces." Moreover, AWS AIDA partner solutions "make it easy for business experts to use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to derive better insights from data and take action," the company said. 15. AWS Energy Competency: This allows customers to identify AWS Partners that "help energy companies drive cost reduction and efficiency" amid the march toward "a lower carbon world," the company said. 14. AWS Data Exchange for Amazon Redshift: This new AWS Data Exchange capability "enables customers to find and subscribe to third-party data in Amazon Redshift cloud data warehouses that they can query, analyze, and build applications within minutes," the company said. 13. AWS GameDay: This is part of the AWS Partner Network. Teams from global partner companies "compete against each other in hands-on technical challenges to build new cloud skills capabilities," the company said. 12. AWS Migration & Modernization Competency: This allows AWS customers to find partners that have "validated migration and modernization software offerings." 11. AWS Marketplace Momentum: The marketplace now has more than 1,000 registered consulting partners; 2000+ ISVs; 260+ data providers; 500+ consulting partners; 2 million+ active subscriptions; and 325,000 active customers. 10. Cloud Security - Amazon Inspector: This is a new automated security assessment service that helps customers to secure their AWS workloads. Launch partners include Rezilion— a startup focused on development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) automation. 9. Cloud MSP and AWS Training: 2nd Watch, a Top 250 Public Cloud MSP, has launched an AWS Developer Acceleration (DevAx) program. For a limited time, 2nd Watch will offer training on the latest AWS products and development best practices to its customers. 8. Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) - Robots: The new AWS IoT RoboRunner service seeks to make it "easier for enterprises to optimize industrial robotics automation." The service allows developers to "more easily connect different types of robots, and work management systems, the company said. Also, Amazon reinforced its AWS Robotics Startup Accelerator, an incubator program. 7. AWS Marketplace Expansion: It's safe to expect updates from Stephen Orban, GM of AWS Marketplace and control services. In some ways, the AWS Marketplace now competes against traditional software distributors and cloud distributors. But in other ways, distributors are partnering up with AWS. 5. New AWS Channel Leader: Cisco Managed Services Veteran Ruba Borno is set to succeed Doug Yeum as head of worldwide channels and alliances for AWS on December 6, 2021. Still, Yeum isn't disappearing from Amazon.com. He'll shift to Amazon's retail division. But before doing so, Yeum will deliver a Global Partner Summit keynote at AWS re:Invent 2021 on Monday, November 29. It's a safe bet Borno will be on-hand for a high-profile transitionary moment. 4. Another AWS Leader Transition: Meanwhile, Sandy Carter, VP of AWS worldwide public sector partners and programs, also is scheduled to keynote the Global Partner Summit. But Carter also is set to leave AWS soon, CRN reported on November 22, 2021. (AWS veteran Jeffrey Kratz will succeed Carter.) 3. AWS Partner Announcements: Still, Carter is vowing that AWS will make at least 10 announcements that partners won't want to miss. She's telling her LinkedIn followers to check out an AWS Partner leadership session on Wednesday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. pacific. Among the partner names to know, she notes, are: 2.
