StorageCraft has hired ConnectWise and Xcellerate veteran Jeannine Edwards as senior director of channel marketing. Her career move comes as StorageCraft continues a business continuity and data management push involving VARs and MSPs worldwide.
TA Associates, a private equity firm, acquired majority control of StorageCraft and named Dell-SonicWall veteran Matt Medeiros as its CEO in January 2016. The company since that time has hired extensive executive and channel leadership to further accelerate its business worldwide. TA Associates has also tucked acquisitions like Gillware Online Backup and Exablox into StorageCraft.
Jeannine Edwards' Channel Partner Experience
So what does Edwards bring to the table? Plenty, in the form of channel expertise and partner know-how. Early in her career, Edwards played a key role at IPED -- the Institute for Partner Education and Development -- which helped to document best practices across the IT channel. Next up, she spent roughly a decade helping to build and shape IT Nation -- the closely knit ConnectWise community of IT service providers. And most recently, Edwards was customer experience officer at Xcellerate, which helps MSPs to automate, scale and grow their businesses.
That experience should bode well for StorageCraft. I believe the company remains in growth mode, though the privately held firm doesn't disclose financial figures for its business.
Meanwhile, competition also remains fierce. The backup and disaster recovery (BDR) market is now packed with dozens of channel-focused competitors -- particularly Veeam in the CSP partner sector, Datto in the MSP portion of the partner market, and numerous upstarts and potential disrupters vying for additional market share.
We'll be watching to see where StorageCraft heads next.
