2nd Watch, an MSP focused on Amazon Web Services, has raised $19 million in Series D funding. Valuation terms were not disclosed.
The funding will be used to meet customer demand for 2nd Watch's managed cloud services and also for scaling its related cloud enablement and migration services.
Scores of companies offer managed services for AWS. Among the best-known examples: Rackspace has bet its business on managed services for AWS and Microsoft Azure. But 2nd Watch is widely perceived to rank among the AWS MSP leaders. More than a consulting and professional services firm, 2nd Watch developed proprietary tools that automate workload management processes for big data analytics, digital marketing, line-of-business and cloud native workloads, the company claims.
The results sound promising: 2nd Watch has more than 400 enterprise workloads under its management and more than 200,000 instances in its managed public cloud.
The company also has deep AWS expertise, including competencies across Financial Services, Enterprise Migration, DevOps, Big Data, Marketing and Commerce, Life Sciences and SharePoint. The firm is opening an East Coast Managed Cloud Services Center in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2017.
But just how successful is 2nd Watch in terms of revenues and actual profits? Those figures remain undisclosed.
