Syntax Systems has acquired EmeraldCube Solutions, an Oracle partner that offers managed services for JD Edwards applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other platforms. Financial terms were not disclosed.
JD Edwards develops an ERP (enterprise resource planning) application suite that Oracle has owned since 2005. It started as an on-premises suite more than two decades ago, and is now available in various cloud configurations.
Syntax delivers security and automation for JD Edwards customers, whether hosted on AWS or on Syntax's enterprise private cloud. By acquiring EmeraldCube, Syntax is better positioned to offer 24/7 managed services for JD Edwards applications, the company asserts.
Further explaining the acquisition, Syntax CEO Christian Primeau said:
“We wanted to help our customers with their journey to the cloud while increasing our capabilities for the JD Edwards and Oracle ecosystem in general. We are very excited to join forces with EmeraldCube Solutions. They understand the importance of innovation that contributes to customers' success and have an extensive history with a public cloud offering. Syntax has acquisition experience. The company acquired Core Services Corporation in April 2017. Together, Syntax and Core Services have focused on best in class cloud managed services, application managed services and consulting services for ERP applications consumed by mid and large enterprises.
Like a growing number of IT services providers, Syntax has private equity backing. Indeed, Novacap made a strategic investment in the company in July 2016. Financial terms were not disclosed.
