Amid ConnnectWise's recent acquisition of Continuum, several executive moves are under way at the IT automation and business management software provider for MSPs.
Among the names to know:
- Continuum CFO Geoffrey Willison shifts to COO (chief operating officer) at ConnectWise, ChannelE2E has confirmed;
- Continuum SVP of Global Service Delivery Tasos Tsolakis shifts to that role at ConnectWise, NS Tech reports;
- ConnectWise plans to name a new CFO to succeed Michael Power, who has exited the company to join marketing automation platform provider SharpSpring.
ChannelE2E is watching to see if additional Continuum executives join the ConnectWise executive team, which is led by CEO Jason Magee. Continuum CEO Michael George exited the business when the deal was announced earlier this month.
New Pieces in the ConnectWise Puzzle
Retaining Willison and Tsolakis are particularly strategic moves. During the Continuum Navigate 2019 Pittsburgh conference in October, several Continuum executives described Willison as an executive of "unlimited potential." That chatter emerged before the ConnectWise-Continuum deal was officially announced in November.
Tsolakis, meanwhile, has been responsible for delivering Continuum's NOC (network operations center), SOC (security operations center) and help desk services to partners. Those offerings are Continuum's key differentiators in the crowded MSP platform and business automation market.
The NOC and help desk options are likely the largest of their kind in the SMB-focused MSP market, though the SOC services are still emerging.
ConnectWise and Continuum: Next Moves
The ConnectWise-Continuum deal, backed by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, certainly has some major synergies for MSPs (managed IT service providers) and technology partners. But there are also some talent and product overlaps.
ChannelE2E recently outlined these 10 potential next moves for the ConnectWise business, and the potential implications for partners.
