Evergreen, backed by Alpine Investors, has acquired roughly a dozen MSPs (managed IT services providers) since 2018. Some of those deals, including NetGain and Wolf Consulting, have involved gradual, post-deal CEO transitions that were hatched as part of the M&A negotiations.

NetGain Technologies, powered by roughly 120 employees, delivers IT services to companies across the South Central United States. Burke has worked closely with Jacobson ahead of the CEO transition, and previously held key financial posts at such firms as Bank of America.

In an email interview with ChannelE2E, Burke provided more details about the CEO transition and NetGain's business strategy.

New NetGain Technologies CEO Tim Burke: Interview

ChannelE2E: What are your first priorities as CEO?

Burke: My first priority is to build relationships among our employees, our customers and our partners. Additionally, I am focused on continually delivering outstanding service to our customers, providing a great place to work for our employees, and building upon the foundation NetGain has built over the course of over three decades.

ChannelE2E: How did you first become involved in Evergreen?

Burke: I was recruited for the Alpine Investors CEO-in-Training program, eventually was extended an offer, and met the Evergreen team as part of my matching process.

ChannelE2E: How long have you been working in/around NetGain in preparation for the CEO transition?

Burke: I have been in conversations with NetGain and Evergreen since March. I accepted the role as the NetGain CEO in April, have been working part-time since June, and joined full-time on July 15.

ChannelE2E: How will your financial experience at Bank of America influence or shape your strategy at NetGain?

Burke: Many of our key clients are financial institutions or others with similar needs to those of financial institutions. Given my background at Bank of America, I believe I have a deep understanding of the pain points faced by our customers, the problems we can help them solve, and the right way to build relationships across diverse sets of stakeholders.
