- Rackspace ransomware class action suit dismissed: A federal judge has dismissed a class action lawsuit against Rackspace over the December 2022 ransomware attack against the cloud company that impacted 30,000 customers who lost access to email and related data, according to this report. The judge granted Rackspace’s motion to compel the plaintiffs to pursue their claims individually in arbitraton.
- Cybersecurity challenges in India: Nearly 67% of Indian enterprises are looking to outsource key areas of their security to managed security service providers in the next three years, according to IDC. Enterprises faced a number of challenges, and one of them was deploying authentication and access controls for partners and contractors when using an identity and access management (IAM) solution.
- Veeam appoints new Americas chief: Data protection company Veeam has announced that Shiva Pillay will now lead the company’s Americas region, driving alignment, high growth, and optimizing performance. Pillay most recently served as Veeam general manager and senior vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan.
- TI company announces new CEO: Technology integrator SAIC (Science Applications International Corp.) has announced Toni Townes-Whitley will join the company as CEO, effective October 2. She succeeds Nazzic S. Keene who has decided to retire as CEO and from the SAIC board. Townes-Whitley will join the company on June 12 as CEO elect to assure a smooth transition.
- Those darn printers: Maybe you’ve gotten the calls and tickets about this one already. Reports say that HP is working to address a bad firmware update that has been bricking HP Office Jet printers around the world. The company has not issued a statement, but it did tell this site that it is addressing blue screen errors seen by a limited number of users.
