Chatter about Inderhees' career move has swirled on social media for about a week, but the official word from Appgate surfaced this morning.

Inderhees is well-known within and across MSP ecosystems for his work to align Cisco's technologies and partner programs with MSP-centric business models. Indeed, Inderhees spent 16 years in the Cisco Global Partner Organization -- including the last five years driving the company’s MSP channel strategy and go-to-market efforts, Appgate notes.

Now at Appgate, Inderhees is heading the strategy and execution for a new Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program. The program features technical training, enablement and 24/7 technical support for Appgate SDP -- a Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution.

Appgate Hires MSP Channel Expert Marc Inderhees: The Interview

In an email conversation with ChannelE2E, Inderhees covered these points about joining Appgate...

ChannelE2E: How did you first learn about the opportunity?

Inderhees: I worked closely with Jawahar Sivasankaran when he worked at Cisco several years ago as a sales leader in Cisco’s Global Security Sales Organization. I tracked his move to Appgate a few months ago when he assumed the president & COO role at Appgate. Jawahar recognizes the incredible influence and opportunity that MSPs have in the security market space. We began to speak about the opportunity at Appgate, his interest in investing in the MSP route to market and my experience in building successful MSP sales and GTM strategies at Cisco. The rest is history…

ChannelE2E: What made this an ideal move for you?

Inderhees: Appgate is a market leader in the Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) market with our Appgate SDP solution. For me it was an opportunity to join a great company with a great ZTNA solution and help them to become the clear market leader and vendor of choice for MSPs and MSSPs desiring to deliver Zero Trust security to their managed service customers.

ChannelE2E: What are your first priorities?

Inderhees: The MSP program at Appgate was announced at the MSP Summit/Channel Partner Conference in Las Vegas just over a month ago. Priority #1 is to build a solid base of Appgate MSPs who can assist us as we accelerate sales of Appgate SDP as a managed service. In parallel, I am committed to establish a world-class MSP partner program (tools, processes, marketing and more) and build a thriving MSP community.

Appgate MSP and Channel Partner Programs

Tina Gravel, senior VP, Appgate

In a prepared statement about Inderhees joining the company, Tina Gravel, senior VP of global channels and alliances, said:

“Marc has a tremendous amount of experience developing and driving the go-to-market strategy for global channel partner programs and growing and accelerating company revenues via partner managed services. Our goal is to arm our partners with a seamless and accessible approach to Zero Trust Network Access that helps them enable customer success. Marc is the perfect person to lead Appgate’s MSP channel sales strategy and GTM and help drive our continued commitment to Zero Trust.”

In addition to the MSP push, Appgate in early 2021 launched the Sentinel Program, an incentive program designed for its worldwide channel partners.
