SecureAuth has hired Danielle Jackson as chief information security officer (CISO). At first glance, this is a new position for SecureAuth and a new role for Jackson. But take a closer look and you'll notice that she's got extensive end-to-end security experience.

SecureAuth provides Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions through a range of partners.

Among Jackson's key priorities at SecureAuth: “I'm anticipating a challenge in balancing both internal and external functionality in support of being a best-in-breed security company,” she tells ChannelE2E.

Jeff Kukowski, CEO, CloudBolt Software

Jackson previously was director of information security at Bloomberg BNA and Mandiant (now owned by FireEye). Amid that journey she gained experience in network, system, data, cloud, and security design. SecureAuth was impressed with her real-world experience addressing complex security challenges that businesses face, according to a prepared statement from CEO Jeff Kukowski.

“There's an element of technical competency and ability,” Jackson says of the CISO role. “I have supported several CISOs and security leaders in the past with a wide-range of technical skills." The most successful CISOs, she adds, are business enablers.

Beyond Password Protection

Among the security challenges facing today's businesses: Pushing beyond passwords without creating unwanted burdens for users. According to one SecureAuth survey, many companies hope to do away with passwords in the next five years. And for good reason: A 2016 Verizon report showed 63 percent of confirmed data breaches involved the use of weak, default or stolen credentials.

SecureAuth's MFA and SSO solutions aim to address those issues. Among the latest enhancements: The company released its Symbol-To-Accept solution late last year. The mobile MFA helps bolster security without overburdening the user.

That's the type of technology Jackson looks forward to sharing with the world. “SecureAuth has raised the standard for what customers should expect from their identity and security access control solutions,” she asserts.
