Storage Guardian BDR, ConnectWise Manage: New PSA Integration

Storage Guardian backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions now integrate deeply with ConnectWise Manage professional services automation (PSA) software. As part of a new integration, MSPs can deploy Storage Guardian software onto their customers' networks directly from ConnectWise Manage.

Storage Guardian says the new integration:

  • Automatically resolves outdated open-file alert tickets.
  • Simplifies the deployment of Storage Guardian services.
  • Increases the efficiency and accuracy of billing.

The integration features an electronic interchange of data to eliminate the need for manual entry of billing information and flat-rate pricing based on total capacity. It also provides a self-healing ticket process that resolves an alert ticket when the previously opened file is found closed during a subsequent backup, Storage Guardian said.

What Was the Impetus for the Integration?

The integration was developed after many conversations with ConnectWise partners, according to Omry Farajun, president of Storage Guardian.

"One thing we heard repeatedly is that the vast majority of the ConnectWise community prefers to manage all their activities within the ConnectWise ecosystem. This desire lead to our new integration with ConnectWise Manage," he told ChannelE2E. "We've given those who take advantage of Storage Guardian the ability to manage and monitor their clients’ data directly from ConnectWise Manage. It's all about efficiency."

In addition, the integration provides ConnectWise partners with the ability to "talk more confidently to their clients about recovery times, as well as appropriate levels of protection and the best approaches to protecting their critical data" Farajun said.

Storage Guardian is exploring future integration enhancements as well.

"We're always listening to the ConnectWise community and looking for ways to make the partners' jobs more efficient and profitable," he told ChannelE2E. "We do have plans for future integrations, especially as new APIs become available."

Among the areas to potentially keep an eye on: ConnectWise CloudConsole, which gained various integrations with Acronis, StorageCraft and SkyKick during IT Nation 2016, ChannelE2E reported at the time.
