Cloud Automation Software Merger: Nubo, SpinPanel Combine Businesses

Nubo Service Automaton and SpinPanel, two cloud automation and management software providers, are merging. The resulting company, based in The Netherlands, could help MSPs (managed IT services providers) to further automate customer workloads across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and numerous third-party systems.

Founded in 2015, SpinPanel's software allows MSPs to create, deploy, and manage Office 365, Azure, on-premise, or custom-made services. The platform already integrates with Microsoft Dynamics NAV for automated invoicing of cloud services. Chatter involving SpinPanel and Datto's Autotask software has popped up from time to time.

By contrast, Nubo Service Automation is a cloud software automation and management platform for the business market. The company's modular development strategy allows the company to support products other than cloud services.

SpinPanel's Next Moves

Both SpinPanel and Nubo hail from Amsterdam. The combined company will be called SpinPanel, with individual product names remaining unchanged. Karel Saurwalt is CEO, while SpinPanel founders Koen Nicolasen and Vincent Mejan will be responsible for operations and technology within the business, the company says.

SpinPanel also announced a planned push into North American, led by Andy Ketelaars. Roughly 30 to 50 percent of the company's new business already involves international engagements. The merger allows SpinPanel to focus more aggressively on both Dutch and global channels, Saurwalt asserts.

Still, the deal's initial focus involves uniting SpinPanel and Nubo Service Automation into one business with a strong culture, he adds.

Like many folks focused on cloud and managed services, SpinPanel is preaching the power of Automation. Notes Nicolasen:

“Automation has never been more relevant. Every organization is looking for smarter and more efficient ways to work. SpinPanel has already proven to be a great help to distributors and resellers in their transition from legacy to cloud-based solutions. This merger was a logical step toward continuity and business growth. With our new team, we are now in a position to make an international, commercial move. This enables distributors and resellers abroad to also reap the benefits of our complete cloud solution.”
