Calligo, a global data optimization and privacy specialist, has acquired Brampton, Ontario’s Connected Technologies, Inc. (CTI), which provides outsourced IT and cloud services. CTI’s expertise includes Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.

Calligo has been active on the M&A front -- acquiring cloud services provider 3 Peaks in October 2017, and outsourced IT services company Mico Systems in May 2018.

The addition of Connected Technologies makes Calligo one of the largest IT managed services providers serving the Greater Toronto Area by both client numbers and team headcount, according to the company. It also gives Calligo the largest concentration of CPA customers in the region, the company asserts. ChannelE2E hasn't independently confirmed the claims.

Founded in 2011, Calligo provides public and hybrid cloud, IT managed services, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and archival and erasure services, all supported by ‘privacy-first’ data management consultancy. The company also offers CPA-specific services and provides specific assistance with national, international, and industry-specific data protection obligations.

Calligo Acquires Connected Technologies: Executive Perspectives

Speaking about the deal, Calligo Founder and CEO, Julian Box said:

“We are very excited about what the acquisition of Connected Technologies means for Calligo in Canada and internationally. We have been very strong in the delivery of cloud and managed services in Toronto for some time now. Adding Connected Technologies’ experience and skills to our own will cement our position as the first choice for Toronto businesses wanting to outsource their IT.”

Box also said he anticipates the deal will strengthen the delivery of Colligo’s public and hybrid Azure services throughout the globe.

William Shilson, president of CTI, added:

“This acquisition was the result of obvious synergies between our two organizations – strong company cultures, a shared focus on customer centricity and a hunger for innovation. We have seen firsthand the interest that our customers have in the wider services that Calligo offers, particularly in data optimization and also in ensuring that their processes and infrastructure meet their data privacy obligations. This acquisition will therefore create a compelling new service proposition for existing clients, while putting Calligo in the strongest possible position to serve the needs of the wider market.”
